Auraria Library serves a unique community consisting
of three diverse institutions: an urban community college (Community
College of Denver), the largest baccalaureate-only college in
the nation (Metropolitan
State College of Denver), and a metropolitan university (University
of Colorado at Denver), providing both undergraduate education
and a variety of graduate and professional programs.
Teaching with Primary Sources – National Program
The Teaching with Primary Sources Program works with colleges and other educational organizations to deliver professional development programs that help teachers use the Library of Congress's rich reservoir of digitized primary source materials to design challenging, high-quality instruction.
Collaborative
Digitization Program
Through digitization, the Collaborative Digitization
Program, a collaboration of archives, historical societies, libraries
and museums of the West, enables access to cultural, historical
and scientific heritage collections, thereby increasing understanding
of the past and informing future generations.

Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology
The Colorado Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT)
was established to move educational technology innovations into
the practice of educators, pre-K to post-secondary. CTLT supports
Colorado educators on-line and on-site with access to educational
technology tools, software, and training.

Department of Education
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) is
the administrative arm of the Colorado State Board of Education.
With an organizational commitment to high standards, challenging
assessments, and rigorous accountability measures, CDE serves the
preK-12 public education, adult education and family literacy, and
library communities of Colorado.

Virtual Library
The Colorado Virtual Library (ACLIN) is a cooperative
project of the Colorado State Library and the Colorado library community
to provide access to the information resources of the libraries
of the state to support the education, business, health, social
service, and personal growth activities of the residents of Colorado.
Denver Newspaper Agency
The Denver Newspaper Agency publishes The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News under a joint operating agreement designed to preserve editorial competition. The agency also publishes online editions of both newspapers which are available to all educators. Educators may subscribe the the online editions at Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News.

The mission of the Denver Public Library
is to help the people of our community to achieve their full potential.

Public Library's Western History/Genealogy Department
Our on-line database contains a selection
of historic photographs from the collections of the Denver Public
Library Western History/Genealogy Department and the Colorado Historical
Society. These collections, which contain more than one million
items, document the history of Colorado and the American West. Our
on-line database contains some 100,000 images and catalog records
of American Indians, pioneers, railroads, mining, Denver and Colorado
towns, city, farm, and ranch life, recreation, scenery, news events,
and numerous other subjects and states.

State Teacher Education Department
The mission of Teacher Education at MSCD is to
provide exemplary undergraduate programs that prepare teachers to
make effective decisions in diverse contexts. The programs are derived
from and integrate recent research theory and the best of practice.
They are designed to meet the current and emerging educational needs
of local school districts, and they are coordinated with other academic
departments, local and state educational agencies, and professional
and learned societies. Teacher Education programs at MSCD provide
a curriculum that recognizes the multicultural composition of the
population served, the global understandings necessary in an interconnected
world, the relationship between education (schools) and maintaining
a democratic society, the importance of existing knowledge about
learning and teaching, and the role of technology in instruction.

The Library of Congress is the nation's oldest
federal cultural institution and serves as the research arm of Congress.
It is also the largest library in the world, with nearly 128 million
items on approximately 530 miles of bookshelves. The collections
include more than 29 million books and other printed materials,
2.7 million recordings, 12 million photographs, 4.8 million maps,
and 57 million manuscripts.
