The online and face-to-face workshop modules (Acquire, Brainstorm and Create) run concurrently allowing you to freely choose the delivery option that best suits your needs and learning style. If you are skeptical about taking the class online, we recommend that you take the first module face-to-face while simultaneously familiraizing yourself with the online environment. If you later choose to continue solely online, you are free to do so. Familiarizing yourself with the online environment is also important if you plan to continue through Level 2, as this level is only offered online.

Who Should Attend TPS-Colorado Classes?
Professional development classes are available for in-service and pre-service teachers, college faculty, librarians, media specialists and other educational support personnel. The goal of the TPS-Colorado project is to develop a professional development network that reaches out to Colorado educators to support the use of Library of Congress primary source-based instruction in the classroom.
How Can I Participate in TPS-Colorado?
Besides Level 1, there are three other levels of participation.
Level 2 - Advanced Primary Sources: examines strategies for evaluating, creating, and teaching subject-specific, standards-based learning experiences that integrate primary sources from the Library of Congress and exemplify best instructional practices.
Level 3 - Teaching with Primary Sources Ambassador - Colorado (TPS-CO Ambassador): builds a network of experienced Colorado educators who advocate the use of primary sources and widely disseminate the ideas, methods, and products of the Teaching with Primary Sources program.
Library of Congress Teaching with Priamry Sources Fellowship: develops a network of national fellows who travel to Washington, D.C. for one week to network and conduct research for their self-designed primary source related projects to be implemented in their home districts. The Library of Congress funds a limited number of LOC TPS fellows each summer. Only TPS-Colorado Ambassadors are eligible to apply and compete for this opportunity.
