Librarian Days 2008 - Learning First

Special Event for all Colorado Educators - Friday and Saturday, February 1 and 2, 2008 at Downtown Denver's Auararia Campus

On Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2, 2008, Teaching With Primary Sources – Colorado, in conjunction with the Auraria Library and the Denver Newspaper Agency, will host the fourth annual Librarian Days. This two-day event brings together educators from across Colorado to learn about the Library of Congress' American Memory website and 21st century instructional applications for using digital resources in the classroom.

Instructional support professionals such as librarians, media specialists or instructional coaches throughout Colorado are invited to attend free of charge on Friday, February 1 accompanied by a teacher of their choice. Individuals such as public librarians, students and other education professionals may also attend, but will be asked to pay a $20 registration fee. Friday’s Librarian Day will be held in the King Center Concert Hall (KC 145) on downtown Denver’s Auraria Campus.

In addition to Friday’s Librarian Day for instructional teams, all Colorado educators are welcome to sign up for 1 or 2 half-day sessions on Saturday, February 2. Saturday’s sessions will take place on the Auraria Campus. Enrollment on Saturday is limited to room capacity. See the schedule for session topics.

The option of one graduate credit is available through The University of Colorado at Denver to those attending both days.  Please review the Graduate Credit Worksheet if you are interested.

TPS-Colorado will provide reimbursment for substitutes for up to 100 instructional teams who attend on Friday. Complimentary parking and continental breakfast will be provided for participants who register for either day. Complimentary lunch will also be provided on both days for participants who pre-register. Lunch will not be provided for on-site registrants. Librarian Days participants should park in the Tivoli lot at Auraria Parkway and Ninth St. or the Parking & Transportation Center garage at Seventh St. and Lawrence Way to obtain complimentary parking passes. A map to the campus is available at: http://tpscolorado.mscd.edu/LibDay08/Auraria_Map.pdf
